Will You Be Sending Baptism Invites?

Personalized Baptism Invites

Will you be mailing out formal baptism invites? Being a momentous life-changing ceremony similar to a wedding, it's only fitting to have the occasion announced in formal style.

You'll need to share all the details of your baby's baptism or christening with family and friends making invitations an important part of your planning. You can save precious time by shopping online and having them custom printed leaving you only to address them for mailing to your guests. Online invitation websites typically have a wide selection of designs for a christening or baptism.

MONEY-SAVING TIP – Be prepared and save money by ordering a few extra invitations so you won't have to place an additional small-quantity order later, which usually costs more per invitation due to the smaller amount. These extra baptism invites can be used for last-minute guests not originally included in your count. They are also great keepsakes so make sure to save at least one of the invitations as a souvenir for the baby when he/she grows up. It can be framed, placed in a memory album or added to your baby’s scrapbook. If offered, you may also want to order a few extra envelopes to allow for addressing mistakes.

Here are the details to have printed on your baptism or christening invitations.

  • Baby’s Name
  • Parents’ Names
  • Date and Time of Baptism or Christening Ceremony
  • Name and Address of Ceremony Location
  • Time and Location of Reception (if separate from ceremony)
If you are planning a celebration that will include serving hors d'oeuvres or a dinner and you are inviting a number of guests, it may be quite helpful to include some type of RSVP on the invitation for seating and food planning. This can range from placing your phone number at the bottom of the invitation to actually including a separate response card that would be mailed back by your guests. When ordering custom printed baptism invites, some of the formal styles may have available a matching response card. If you do include an RSVP card with your invitation, be sure to place a postage stamp on its accompanying envelope as a courtesy to your guests. The envelopes will come with your address already printed on them for return mailing.
Baptism Thank You Cards

Thank you cards are sometimes also available to match your invitations when having them custom printed. They may have your baby’s name printed on the front with the inside being blank for your handwritten thank you note.
